[Gallery] How Did Stars Spend Their Memorial Day?

June 6 is Korea’s Memorial Day, which commemorates the men and women who died while in military service or in the independence movement. Let’s see how and what our favorite stars did on this day to honor those brave men and women in history!

1. Seohyun posted on the Girls’ Generationofficial page, “Everyone! Today is Memorial Day! Let us applaud the deceased patriots and deeply engrave their noble minds of safeguarding our country throughout the day!” 

2. BEAST‘s Son Dong Woon‘s Memorial Day was extra special because it was also his birthday! He tweeted, “I was born on such a meaningful day so I was wondering what to do and decided to go hiking at Mt. Geomdan and visit the Memorial Monument on the bottom.”

He continued, “I thank my parents and I thank everyone who wished me a happy birthday. I hope everyone thinks about those who protected our country and re-think about the meaning of this day once again.”

3. 4minute‘s Kwon So Hyun celebrated Memorial Day as well as group member HyunA‘s birthday. She tweeted, “Today is Memorial Day and HyunA unni’s birthday. Please think of the day’s significance as well as wish HyunA a happy birthday!”

4. 2PM‘s Chansung tweeted, “I’ve been working and working since yesterday and things just ended. After eating and paying attention, I realized that today is Memorial Day. A day that commemorates the men and women who died while in military service or in the independence movement and to cherish their loyalty. That’s what it says in the encyclopedia. Thank you. I will commemorate the sacrifice of the many. I should study Korean history… I hope the app that I use to study Korean History won’t change!”

5. Kim Woo Bin posted on his me2day, “I am filming today with an even more thankful heart today!”

6. SISTAR‘s Dasom tweeted, “Let’s not forget those who sacrificed themselves for the country! Don’t forget to raise the flags either!” 

7. Kim Soo Ro asked netizens to take a moment of silence. He tweeted, “I gave a silent prayer. Everyone, you all should too. We are one.”

8. Sam Hammington also left a tweet that said, “I want to express my thanks to all those who protected Korea. Because of them, we are able to live here comfortably.”

How would you rank the girl groups of K-Pop? A picture titled “Just For Fun – 2013 Girl Group Rankings” has been making its rounds in the online communities lately. The picture ranks K-Pop’s girl groups from twenty-two to number one.  This isn’t the first time someone has ranked the girl groups, and it won’t be the last. Keep in mind the title; the ranking is just for fun. Netizens haven’t held back their comments on whether they agree or disagree with these rankings.The source itself has already received more thumbs downs than ups.

5. f(x) always puts out catchy songs and recently did a collaboration video with actress Anna Kendrick for the humor website “Funny or Die.” 

6. Miss A has risen past their label mate Wonder Girls in popularity due to their catchy songs and the power of Suzy. 

7. Wonder Girls used to be on top but dropped in popularity from being inactive. With Sunyemarried and expecting a child and the other members pursuing solo activities, the future of this group doesn’t look too promising (but fans are still holding on to hope!). 

8. 4Minute recently made a comeback with “What’s Your Name,” though they have become popular enough that no one will be ever asking them that question now. 

9. Brown Eyed Girls may be a bit older than their competition but that doesn’t stop them from being one of the most talented and sexiest girl groups around. 

10. Secret has proven to be the girl group that can seamlessly switch from cute to sexy from one song to another. They decided to go back to cute for their latest song “Yoohoo.”

11. Girl’s Day was originally popular for their sweet and innocent look but made a drastic change to sexy with their latest song “Expectation.”

12.While T-ara‘s songs are always highly popular and catchy, they have seemingly dropped down in rank due to all the scandals last year.

13. After School always comes back with a new and sexy track. With things such as drumming and tapdancing, they usually bring something unique. The group is also notable for their “graduation system” which cycles members in and out to keep things fresh.

14. A Pink was easily the strongest girl group to come out from 2011. Coming from Cube Entertainment, their cute and innocent image charmed everyone. They look to make a comeback soon.

15. After a long hiatus, Rainbow changed to a cute concept and came back this year with their catchy song “Tell Me Tell Me.” They recently made a comeback this week with “Sunshine,” another cute song.

16. Nine Muses came back as a full nine member group this year with “Dolls.” Their more recent comeback “Wild” has been their highest charting song yet.

17. This cute girl group, Dal Shabet, will be making their comeback on June 20. Four out of the six songs on their upcoming mini album have been written by the girls themselves! 

18. SPICA, debuting in early 2012, was easily of the stronger debuts that year.

19. Pledis Entertainment‘s 2012 girl group Hello Venus has been gaining popularity for their cute looks and sweet songs.

20. FNC Music, the company behind FT Island and CN Blue, revealed their first girl group band AOA in 2012. They have an interesting group setup with a dance unit and a band unit.  

21. RaNia, having promoted their last two songs as a five member group, have gained some popularity in the K-Pop world as a super sexy group. They are already planning to release a US album sometime this year. 

22. Considering how many girl groups there, it’s an honor to make it to the top twenty-two! Coming from Loen Entertainment, FIESTAR became one of the notable girl group debuts in 2012. They debued with “Vista” in August, followed by their comeback “We Don’t Stop” in November.

June 14 is Kiss Day in Korea, a holiday for couples to have another excuse to publicly display their affections by kissing. To celebrate this couple’s holiday, a research agency that studies social dating surveyed men and women in their twenties and thirties and asked which celebrity they would most want a kiss from on Kiss Day. The survey ran from June 3 to 9, and 1010 people participated in this survey. You can go through the gallery to see the seven men and women who received the most votes.

Ga In Looks Like an Island Goddess for Ceci Magazine

Wow, Brown Eyed Girls’ Ga In is certainly sexy! Recently she appeared in a fashion photoshot wearing summer wear that made her look like an island goddess. She appeared in a photoshoot for the edition of Ceci fashion magazine that will be released on June 5. In the magazine, she appeared in a summer makeup trend photoshoot for the brand Espoir.

Ga In put on exotic bronze makeup that made her fit in with the blazing sun and gave her a foreign look. Through the photoshoot she was also able to show off her unique sexiness.

But of course this isn’t the first time that Ga In has appeared in a Ceci photoshoot. For your viewing pleasure, we have included pictures of her previous photoshoots!
